| VILLABELLA AMARONE 2001 DELLA VALPOLICELLA is a top-rated Italian Amarone wine. The grapes are dried for nearly 4 months. The Amarone 2001 wine is predominantly Corvina, with about 25% Rondinella and 10% Negrara grapes. It's matured for approximately three years in wood. VillaBella ages the Amarone wine in large Slavonian oak rather than small French oak barrels. Many Amarone wines are merely "jam juice" but this one has a firm backbone and a mildly tannic bite. It has great versatility and can be paired with cheeses, well-seasoned roasts or stews.

RATINGS: GOLD Medal (TOP WINE) - International Wine & Spirits Competition
"Deep earthen red core colour, garnet edge. Superb nose, spiced plum pudding, treacle, iodine, espresso coffee, brazil nut. Huge concentration in the mouth, a grippy full frontal attack that just keeps revealing layer upon complex layer of of all five taste sensations, sweet, spicey, savoury, bitter and umami, delivered with firm tannic grip and fresh acidity. The powerful bitter sweet finish is almost endless. A superb wine, a superb Amarone."
