Palladino Barolo 2000 is as good as it gets when it comes to an Italian Barolo wine. The is the great Italian wine par excellence, made from Nebbiolo grapes. It originates in the heart of the Langa hills, just outside the town of Alba. When it comes to drinking it, abundant tea leaf perfumes leap out of the glass while silky fruits and spice dance on the tongue. The wine has a bright black cherry taste offering up handfuls of ripe rich warm fruits with delicate under notes of wildflowers, rose, mushrooms, coffee, saddle leather and finishing with spicy cigar box tones. This Barolo is luscious and vibrantly alive!

The vines for the Barolo "Vigna Broglio" were planted in 1950. This boutique winery produces a total of only 5,000 cases per year. Master winemaker, Maurilio Palladino selects only the best bunches for this single vineyard, ‘Vigna Brogilo’. Grapes were picked in October 2000. An 18-day stainless steel fermentation moves into a 24-month aging process in 225L French oak Barriques. The Palladino signature is unmistakable - the grandeur and beauty of the Nebbiolo grape is captured in every bottle of 'Vigna Brogilo’.

RATINGS: Palladino Barolo wines have received top ratings in just about every industry publication.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Guide to Italian Wines
Deep garnet with aromas of dried cherry, truffle, cedar and cinnamon. Medium-full with very good concentration...nicely styled in a traditional style with an earthy finish and good acidity. The tannins are slightly gritty, but not overpowering. Good for 12-15 years.

"The Best I've Had"
My wife and i were given a bottle of this wine as a gift in 2003. we were told the best time to drink it was from 2008-2010 so we waited until 2009 to indulge. I have had $10 bottles and $375.00 bottles of red wine and i can honestly say that is by my favorite. If i had to choose one wine to drink for the rest of my life this would be it.
