Merlot wine Eagle and Rose Skyhawk Merlot 2002 is a classic merlot and produced with 100% estate fruit. After harvest, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak barrels. This exquisite Merlot has pronounced aromas of clove, peppermint, and lavender. The mouth is full of chocolate, deep cherry flavors, charcoal, and just the right amount of oak to balance the soft tannin structure. It's a very nice Napa Valley wine at a very nice price.

Eagle & Rose Estate is in Pope Valley, tucked in the Napa Valley's legendary eastern hills. Founded by Norman Alumbaugh, the winery was built, extensive caves dug and the first vines were planted in 1995. Admiring the eagles which soared above their wild rose-covered valley, Alumbaugh's wife, Evonne, suggested the name Eagle & Rose Estate.
