| Red Blend Wine Rabbit Ridge Allure de Robles 2004 is an estate grown wine that is produced in Chateau Neuf du Pape style. This wine is primarily a blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Petite Sirah and Counoise. Allure de Robles is produced from grapes grown on three of our vineyards on the west side of Paso Robles. The first is Cristalla Ranch which surrounds the main winery on San Marcos Road. The vines from this vineyard are from an old strain of Syrah that was grafted for Rabbit Ridge and two different strains of Syrah - the Estrella and the Tablas Creek. The second vineyard is located on Live Oak Road in the hills on the north side of Highway 46 West. This vineyard is one of the highest in Paso Robles, located at 1,600 feet elevation. This vineyard has large amounts of limestone in the soil with an average soil pH of approximately 8. From the Live Oak Vineyard come three different types of Syrah; Estrella, Tablas Creek and Entav 877. These vines are planted in three distinctly different locations within the vineyard and the fruit ripens as much as three weeks apart. The third vineyard is located on the way to Lake Nacimiento on Vista Serrano Road. This vineyard is also rich in limestone soil. From this vineyard there are two types of Syrah; Estrella and Tablas Creek. In addition this vineyard produces Grenache, Mourvedre, Petite Sirah and Counoise. Rabbit Ridge Allure de Robles Rhone blend is a true delight. It is medium bodied with strawberry and cherry overtones from the Grenache, body from the Syrah and earthiness from the Mourvedre. The 2004 Allure de Robles is a great choice for sipping or with a wide variety of foods.
Rabbit Ridge winery has all their vineyards in Paso Robles. This area of limited water, shallow, rugged, rocky, calcareous soils will produce some of the finest wines in Paso Robles, and among the finest in California. It is common during the growing season for the temperature on the west side to drop from 90 degrees at 3:00 in the afternoon, to 65 degrees by 6:00 PM, and then to 40 degrees at night. They planted the vineyards precisely throughout the Paso Robles appellation to take advantage of the unique micro climates and soil characteristics that would best suit each grape variety. You can taste perfection in their boutique wines.
