Shiraz Australia Rolf Binder Hales 2003 is a wonderful combination of 95% Shiraz and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Viognier. This unfiltered Barossa Valley Shiraz cuvée offers a dense ruby and purple color along with a big, sweet nose of creamy vanilla, blackberries, coconut and pepper. In the mouth it is an all-fruit, all-the-time dancing show with blackberry, blueberry, and lightly smoky aromas. Rolf Binder Hales 2003 Shiraz from Australia is balanced and perfect for those who enjoy a nice berry-driven Shiraz.

Rolf Binder has become one of the most famous and sought after winemakers in South Australia, and is credited by many for putting many Australian wines on the map. His parents entered the Australian wine world in the mid 1950's, shortly after immigrating from Hungary. Rolf and Christa were raised in this enviornment and learned the art of winemaking from their earliest days. Rolf is the winemaker for several premium brands, and a consultant for many others. But only one brand crafted at his Veritas Winery bares his own name.
RATINGS: 90 Points - Wine Enthusiast
"This is from Barossa, but the bouquet is more like that of a cool-climate Shiraz, packed with pepper and herbs that accent red berries. Flavors are meaty and spice-driven, backed by ample berry fruit and wrapped in a creamy cloak of soft tannins. Nicely complex, especially at the realistic price point. Drink now–2012."
89 Points - Wine Advocate - Robert Parker
"Red wines are king at Rolf Binder’s winery. This unfiltered cuvee offers a dense ruby/purple color along with a big, sweet nose of creamy vanillin, blackberries, coconut, and pepper. Consume this chewy, fleshy, up-front Shiraz over the next 2-3 years. From one of Australia’s finest winemakers, this wine stood out brilliantly for its precision, richness, complexity, and ageworthiness. In addition, some very good bargains are available from this talented producer."
