Viognier Wine Rolf Binder Hovah 2005 is a very versatile white wine. Exposed lightly to new French Oak, The Hovah has the body to deal with heavy dressings, but adds its own spicines. After a short amount of time in the wood, the Viognier is transported back into the steel tank to balance everything out. Aromas of roses and ripe peach drive the underlying perfumes. This Viognier has a palate of ripe Asian pear and a hint of clove. It is fresh and well balanced, densely packed with summertime stone fruits and a straight-edged minerality that forces you to pay attention. A white wine of this caliber and in this price range is very rare so take advantage while we have the Hovah 2005 in stock. Drink now until 2011.

Rolf Binder has become one of the most famous and sought after winemakers in South Australia, and is credited by many for putting many Australian wines on the map. His parents entered the Australian wine world in the mid 1950's, shortly after immigrating from Hungary. Rolf and Christa were raised in this enviornment and learned the art of winemaking from their earliest days. Rolf is the winemaker for several premium brands, and a consultant for many others. But only one brand crafted at his Veritas Winery bares his own name.
RATINGS: 90 Points - Wine Advocate
"Better than most New World Viogniers, the 2005 Viognier Hovah exhibits surprising minerality along with white peach, apricot, and litchi nut characteristics. Crisp, elegant, medium-bodied, flavorful, and savory, it can be drunk over the next 1-2 years."
