Port Wines are available as Vintage Ports and Wood Ports. The aged Vintage Ports are wines that age briefly in wood and then spend years maturing in the bottle. Wood Ports are every other Port other than Vintage. They also spend several years aging in the bottle and are ready to drink once they are release by the wine makers. Ports are either dry or sweet. Their distinguished characteristics range from a fruity aroma and a bouquet that is reminiscent of dried fruit, toasted nuts, wood, and spices to nutty and extremely complex flavors. It is a dessert wine that complements any meal.
